I know the arguments about hands-on learning, but the cost was too great in my mind. I have grown into a vegetarian who abruptly stops his bike rides to "rescue" slugs that slime their way onto the highway. Extreme? Sure. You are giving me good ideas for books to use with my children's lit class in the summer. <br /><br />I also like your questions at the end. This was the first year in 7th grade science that I gave up the individual insect collections. We are attempting an online photographic life science portfolio instead.
